A 5 kW rooftop system in Nashik cost our customers ₹2,90,000 on average this year, before the central subsidy. Here is what goes into that number, what moves it up or down, and what to ask any installer before you sign.
That figure comes from 11 systems we installed and invoiced between January and November 2026, the latest in Panchavati on Wed 4 Nov. It includes panels, a 5 kW inverter, mounting structure, wiring, net-meter paperwork and the subsidy application. It does not include a battery.
What changes the price
A tin roof needs a different structure than an RCC slab and usually adds ₹8,000 to ₹15,000. A longer cable run from roof to meter adds cost per metre. Panel brand matters less than people think; the inverter matters more. If a quote is far below ₹2,75,000, ask which of these was left out.
Smaller and larger systems
A 3 kW system, enough for most two-bedroom homes, cost ₹1,85,000 on our last job, finished Sun 1 Nov. Yearly maintenance under our AMC is ₹4,500.
